Climatix S400 programming

We develop control applications for the Siemens Climatix S400 - from the compact POS455 to the POS466 with extension modules. Developed in Climatix Project Studio Automation, configured and commissioned with SCOPE. The S400 is just one platform: we program every Climatix controller, including the POL63x, POL64x and POL68x.

The S400 at a glance

The Climatix S400 is Siemens' compact, freely programmable controller platform for HVAC applications such as heat pumps, heat interface units, air handling units and heating systems.

Important in practice: MINI and STD differ significantly in their output wiring - on the STD, some outputs switch 230 V directly. An application must therefore always match the hardware variant.

  1. Specification

    Plant schematic, functional description and I/O list - including the choice of the right S400 variant and modules.

  2. Development

    Control application in Climatix Project Studio Automation based on the Climatix library, graphical according to IEC 61131-3.

  3. Configuration

    Parameterisation, watch pages and data point mapping in SCOPE, user interface for HMI and web.

  4. Test & commissioning

    I/O factory test of the control panel, online test, on-site commissioning and handover.

Factory test: find faults in the workshop

We have developed our own I/O test application for the S400. It lets you check every terminal of a control panel before delivery: read inputs, switch outputs individually - for MINI and STD variants. Wiring faults are found in the workshop rather than during commissioning on site.

Frequently asked questions

Which tool is used to program the S400?

The control application is created in Climatix Project Studio Automation (successor to SAPRO), graphically according to IEC 61131-3. SCOPE is used for configuration, parameterisation and commissioning.

Which firmware does the S400 need?

For current applications and cloud connectivity, an up-to-date BSP (board support package) is recommended. Tool and BSP versions should match - we check this before the project starts.

Can you modify an existing S400 application?

Yes. We analyse existing applications, fix faults and extend them - even if they were not originally developed by us.

Is there a web interface for local operation?

Yes, HMI4Web provides plant graphics with alarms and time schedules in the browser - locally via Ethernet or Wi-Fi stick, even without the cloud.
